Goldfinch are characterised by their vibrant plumage featuring a radiant red face and a striking yellow wing patch. They are a very social birds with a delightful twittering song and melodious call. Thanks to their fine beaks, they possess the capability to extract seeds from thistles and teasels that would otherwise remain out of reach. If you want to attract them into your garden I’d recommend sunflower hearts which they find very hard to resist.
